Used Book Sales

  • The Friends of the Library used book sales are our biggest source of revenue. Money goes to fund library programs with all proceeds benefitting Poudre Libraries. These book sales are completely volunteer-run, and we do our best to hold multiple book sales per year.

  • During the COVID-19 pandemic, we sought to balance the safety of our patrons and volunteers when making decisions about hosting our book sales. When the large traditional book sales were not safe, we held new book sale formats such as the $5 Grab Bag sales and outdoor genre sales. We hope to be able to safely return to browsable formats regularly.

  • In between our sales events, we encourage library patrons to visit The Nook at Old Town Library and Friends Bookshop at Harmony Library to shop our used book collection.

*Want to get first peek at the books? Sign up to be a FOL member and you can join the members-only preview nights on Thursday 6-8PM before the sales open the public!

Payment Options

  • Cash

  • Credit card: Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, JCB, Diners Club. We also accept debit cards.

  • Checks: We only accept checks with pre printed name and address, no exceptions. You must also write or print a current telephone number on the check. Please make checks out to Friends of the Library or FOL. *A $25 surcharge will be added to the face value of returned checks*

  • Pricing ranges from $1 to $4 TAX INCLUDED.

  • 50% Discount for Teachers when purchasing books for their classroom. Bring your school badge.

  • We do have to charge the City sales tax of 3.85%. Taxes are included in the prices. Book resellers must show proof of tax exempt status.

  • All sales are final. No refunds, exchanges, or returns.
