What We Do

  • We raise money for the libraries by selling used books at our big book sales and at our Harmony Shop and our Old Town Library Nook. Our Board manages the logistics of the books sales, organizes book donations, and reviews and approves the library program budgets FOL funds.

  • We contribute more than $70,000 from book sale proceeds, fundraising, and memberships every year to our libraries to help fund programs and events, including the Summer Reading Program, History Comes Alive speakers, and much more!

Library Programs We Support

Every year, the library sends us a wish list of spending requests which our Board votes on. As a result, the Friends have donated more than $900,000 since 2008 to support many well-loved library programs using funds raised through book sales and memberships. Here are a few examples of programs we have supported over the years:

  • Fort Collins Book Fest 2023 (Silver sponsor)

  • Summer Reading

  • History Comes Alive

  • Kevin Cook Nature Talks

  • Harmony Music in the Round Concerts

  • Book Club Kits

  • Author Events
